Show of Hands have long been among my favourite ‘modern’ folk music artists. Folk has a history of protest songs of course but generally Show of Hands are not overtly political. However this song, called AIG, performed on the Andrew Marr show, hits the nail firmly on the head. Rather unusually it looks as though someone at the BBC has a sense of humour, putting them on the show to represent the folk awards while William Hague was in the studio was an interesting mix.
The entire show was on iPlayer but appears not to be available at the moment.
